HOUSEHOLD

I took the term "household" from the U. S. Census records from 1860 on. As applied in the censuses and as it is applied in the Procession Project, it denotes the living quarters of a particular person. The person who owned or was the main provider was noted as "Head of Household." The abbreviation for a "Head of Household" is HH.
