Know all men by these presents by these presents
that I Charles Stockly of the County of Accomack in Virginia, impressed with the
fullest Sensibility of the Equal rights of Human Nature to Personal Liberty and being
desirous of Contributing thereto as far as the Emancipation of my slaves will extend
have Manumitted discharged and set free, and do by these presents Manumitt, liberate
& discharge my Several Slaves to Wit: William, Sampson, Abel, Francis, Brinney Ockraw,
John, Abel, Sunto, Nicey and her Children, Betty Letty, Mary, Leah, Sarah, Isaac
and Ritter, Bettys Children, Peter, Levy and Ezekiel, Marys child Nannys, Leah and
her Child Esther, Hannah, and her child, Henry Esther and her Child Rose, Leah and
her Child Levin, Jane Susan and Nelly & I do for myself and my heirs Ratify, release,
Grant and confirm unto the afore mentioned Several Negroes and their heirs forever,
all and singular my right, claim or Interest, of in and unto any Property or demand
which I have in them or any of them, reserving only to myself and my Heirs the right
of holding such as are under age during their Non age --- In Testimony whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th day of September 1787.Charles Stockly

a Court held in Accomack County September 27th 1787 this Deed of Manumission was
Acknowledged by the said Charles Stockly as his Act and deed and ordered to be Recorded Littleton
