JOHN MICHAEL OF ACCOMACK / NORTHAMPTON COUNTY
In studying John Michael there were two letters of power of attorney found recorded in both the Accomack / Northampton VA court and Northumberland VA court. Those court proceedings recorded in Accomack / Northampton Virginia are shown in blue and the other recorded in Northumberland County Virginia. The information included in these letters shows that
1. The first letter of attorney written by Abraham Janssen / Johnson to John Janssen/Johnson was written overseas on 7 September 1651 and brought by ship to Virginia.
2. The second letter, written by John / Janssen giving power of attorney to John Michael, was written in Accomacke [Northampton] on 29 July 1652. It was recorded there on 24 December 1652 and then the original was brought again by ship, to Northumberland County, Virginia, where it was recorded on 30 May 1652.
