No1, cancer, 69 yrs, c/o Conquest, Lulia, housekeeper, widow, James, Mary L., Daughter, g/info.

Major Conquest was mentioned in the estate sale of William Conquest Esq. on 20 October 1824 (Miles & Miles Wills &c, p. 137). The text reads: 30 December 1816 (Order to Inventory) 2 January 1817 (Inventory 7 Sale), 20 October 1824 (Order to Aduit) 29 & 30 January 1825 (Audit & recorded) Buyers Joseph Conquest, E. Conquest purcjased the schooner 'Jane Carline' for $1,240 and the schooner on the stocks for $1,500. Negro man Isaac, right in man Joshua; boys Isaac, Abraham, Levin, Edmund, Major, Jacob, Joseph, Scott & Arthur, girls Martha, Esther, Amy, Sarah, Mary , Hessy & Leah: women Fame, Eliza & child John, Grace, Sinah & right in old Grace. Appraisers John Staton, Joseph Conquest & William L. Matthews. Euphemia Conquest Administratrix. Paid John Dunton on 7 June 1823 for coffin for Negro Stephen $4.00. Auditors: David Watts, Joseph Conquest & James L. Corbin.

Conflicting evidence states that she died on 10 October 1893 (143). The 2nd record of her death reads: Smith, Katy, c/f, 10 Oct 1893, in Baltimore MD, dysentery, 32 yrs, c/o Conquest, Major &Conquest, Sabra, born in VA, Smith, Chas., Mother g/info.

SECOND GENERATION
3. Harry C. Conquest was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1854. He married twice. He married Caroline Bayly in Accomack Co., VA, on 6 September 1894, (Miles & Miles Marriages, p. 94) The marriage record reads: Harry C. Conquest Col, 40, single, Farmer, living in Accomack, born in Accomack, son of Major & Sabra to Caroline Bayly Col, born in in Accomack, daughter of John and Betsy on 6 September 1894 at Accomac by B. J. Hargarves.
Caroline was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1856. Caroline died before 1905 in Accomack Co., VA (Accomack Marriages No 4. p. 108 line 30).
He married Susie Chandler widow in Accomack Co., VA, on 20 February 1905. (Marriages No 4). The marriage record reads: Harry Conquest widowed, age 46, son of Major, to Susie Chandler, age 45 widowed.
Susie was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1860.
Harry C. Conquest and Caroline Bayly had the following children:

He married Agnes Cropper in Accomack Co., VA, on 3 January 1886 (Miles & Miles, Marriages, p 94). The record reads: Edmund Conquest, Col, 30, Single, Laborer, living in Accomack, Born in Accomack, son of Sabra, to Aynes Cropper 25, Single, daughter of Peter and Mary on 3 January 1886.

vi. Charlie Conquest was born in Accomack Co., VA in 1897. Charlie died in 1968 in Accomack Co., VA He was buried at Gaskins Chapel African American Methodist Church, North of Savageville VA (59). He married Lucy Conquest in Accomack Co., VA, on 20 January 1921 in Savageville VA (Accomack Marriages No 4. p. 288 line 23). Lucy was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1897 (Mihalyka Graven Stones, p 59). Lucy died in 1983 (59).
