This Indenture made this twelfth day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred & thirty nine between Sally Thomas wife of Benjamin Thomas dec'd of Somerset County & State of Maryland, of the one part and George Evans of the County & State afsd. of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred fifty five dollars money by the said Evans to the sd. Thomas in hand paid before the Sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt of which she do hereby acknowledge the said Sally Thomas haith bargained and sold, aliened and enfeoffed and by these presents doth give, grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff. release, convey and confirm unto the sd. Evans all her rights & title that seh claims or have in and to that tract of land called Jones Island: together with all & singular the buildings improvements to belonging whatsoever ar Law or Equity of her the sd. Thomas of in & to the same. To Have and to Hold the said discribed, with appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the sd. Evans his heirs and assigns forever, and the sd. Sally for herself, her heirs, Executors, admst. do covent, promise to & with the sd. Evans that the sd. Lands sold will warrant & defend by these presents - In Testimony whereof the sd. Sally Thomas hath hereunto Set her hand & Seal the day & year first above written.

State of Maryland, Somerset County to wit: Be it remembered that on this day & year above written, before the subscribers two Justices of the State of Maryland for Somerset County, personally appeared Sally Thomas being known to us, to be the person who is named & described as being & professing to be the party to the foregoing deed & do acknowledge the said Indenture of Instrument of writing to be her act & Deed - In Testimony where we hereunto subscribe our names, on the day & Year afsd.

Then was delivered unto the subscriber the foregoing Deed in order to be enrolled among the Records of Somerset County, which said Deed together with the acknowledgment thereof thereon Endorsd. accordingly enrolled among the Same Records in Liber LH folio 47, on the day and year aforesaid
