Indenture made this eighteenth day of March in the year one thousand
Seven hundred and ninety three between Ann Roberts of the Town of
Portsmouth and County of Norfolk widow of the one part and Daniel Mifflin
of the County of Accomack both in the State of Virginia of the other
part. Witnesseth that the said Ann Roberts for and in consideration of
the sum of two hundred pounds current money of Virginia to her in hand
paid to the Daniel Mifflin at or before the ensealing and dilivery of
these presents the Receipt whereby is hereby acknowledged and the said
Daniel Mifflin his heirs, Execurs & adminrs of and from the same
for ever aquitted and discharged, hath granted, bargained, sold,
alienated, infeeof'd and confirmed and by these presents doth grant,
bargain, & sell, alienate infeeofe and confirm unto the said Daniel
Mifflin to his heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract or parcel of
land lying and being in the County of Accomack containing by estimation
Two hundred acres of land be the same more or less being contiguous to
lands of John Fitchfield on the South side, the lands of Jacob Taylor
on the Westward, the lands of Comfort Warrington on the North, the
lands of Thomas Baily Henry Hall and John Shay eastwardly and
Southwardly & more particularly to be known by the legal and
ancient bounds thereof being land which was part of the inheritannce of
the said Ann Roberts in her maiden right, together with all houses,
ways waters water cources profits comodities Herididments, advantages
and appurtenances to the same belonging or any ways appertaining
together with the Revertion or revertions remainder or remainders,
rents, issues and profits and all the estate Title & interest of
her the said Ann Robert of in and to the same To have and to hold the
said land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Daniel
Mifflin his heirs and Assigns forever to his and their only proper use
and behoof. And the said Ann Roberts for herself and her heirs doth
hereby covenant and agree with the said Daniel Mifflin that he his
heirs and assigns shall and may at all times hereafter have hold
possess and enjoy the said premises with the appurtenances against the
claim or Demand of her the said Ann Roberts or her heirs or any person
or persons claiming or th claim by from or under her, she shall and
will warrant & defend. In Witness whereof the said Ann Roberts hath
interchangeable hereunto set her hand and affixed her Seal the day and
Year first above written -
