This Deed made the Thirteenth day of August One thousand eight hundred and Eight Between Zachariah Crocket of the County of Accomack state of Virginia of the one part, and William Evans and Richard Evans of the same place of the other part Witnesseth, That the said Zachariah Crocket for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty Dollars to him in hand paid or secured to be paid at, and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents which is hereby acknowledged, Hat granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and Sell, alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said William Evans and Richard Evans their heirs and assigns for ever, all that Island called South point (being one of the Tangier Islands) which was devised unto the said Zachariah Crocket for life and after to his son Elisha Crocket in fee simple by the Will of Joseph Crocket father of the said Elisha Crocket together with all the hereditaments rights priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging and every part and parcel in fee simple for ever. To have and to hold the said Island called South Point which was supposed to contain eight hundred Acres, be the same more or less unto him the said William Evans and Richard Evans their heirs and assigns for ever. To and for their only proper use benefit and behoof and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever. And the said Zachariah Crockett doth for himself and his Son the said Elisha Crockett and his heirs generally the said above described Island called South Point supposed to contain eight hundred Acres, with the rights priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto them the said William Evans and Richard Evans, their heirs and Assigns for ever in fee Simple free from the claim or claims of them and their heirs and especially free from the claim or claims of his said son Elisha Crocket a his heirs, and of and every person claiming the same shall will and do warrant and by these presents for ever defend. And the said Zachariah Crockett doth hereby bind himself & his heirs and charge all the Lands of which he is at present possessed & bind his Executors & Admrs that in case said Elisha Crockett his son should not hereafter convey or in case the said William Evans and Richard Evans or their heirs should ever hereafter be evicted of said Island called South Point that they paid for such loss by my Real & personal Estate which I hereby charge for that purpose. In testimony whereof I the said Zachariah Crockett have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this day and year first aforesaid Zachariah Crocket
